Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Using Win7 Home, I have a folder X under c:\users\myuser\documents. I cannot see it in Windows Explorer, though I can see it and access it from an elevated command prompt (cd X, dir X). All other folders under c:\users\myuser\documents are normally visible and accessible from a standard command prompt.

Trying to access X by manually writing c:\users\myuser\documents\X in the Windows Explorer address bar throws a "Can't find X" error.

I already tried to get ownership (takeown X), to change permissions to full control (icacl X /grant myuser:(OI)(CI)F), to show hidden/system file, but X is still invisible from Windows Explorer. My user account is an administrator one.

Any hints?

Thanks Marco
