The display on my Macbook Pro running Mavericks (OS X 10.9) suddenly froze, and I am unable to get it to respond. The computer itself is not frozen however as I can remotely connect to it via SSH. Is there anyway to get the display to start working again? I am in the middle of copying some large files and would prefer not to have to restart it.

Try pressing Command+F1 to toggle the displays and see if that may "refresh" your Mac's display. –  falconspy Feb 12 at 19:28
