I need to find somewhere that sells BIG (as in 50+ inches) LCD monitors at cheap, cheap prices.

Here's the deal,...

I play in a band and we want to start using video in our show so the monitor (TVs are okay too) is gonna go at the back of a stage, hung on a goal-post-like rig. Obviously it needs to be relatively thin.

It seems it's a bit of a niche market since i really don't care about the quality of the image,...it just needs to be big. Resolution and pitch aren't an issue. Neither are things like color temperature or refresh rate.

I've looked at using a projector but it really isn't feasible since this is a mobile setup and i can't guarantee how deep the stage is gonna be. I looked at short throw projectors too but they're pretty pricey.

I'm even happy with a few dead pixels or some aesthetic damage.

Does anyone have any suggestions other than ebay?

EDIT: I'm living in the UK so buying from elsewhere might be difficult

Have you checked out Costco.com? (or Costco.ca)

Costco.com has a 46" Sceptre for $699.99

Costco.ca has a 50" LG for $909.99

Prices and shipping, etc will vary by your location of course.

EDIT: And since it seems you live in the U.K., these prices won't help. :) Also, it may help other readers to know what you consider to be "cheap", as opposed to inexpensive.

thanks for that JMD. Even though it doesn't help, at least you read the question. – stimul8d Nov 19 at 13:00
