I have asus laptop.

Config:

  • i3 3217U @ 1.80 GHz
  • 6GB RAM
  • SSD 128 GB
  • Windows 8.1 - updated frequently

Since yesterday I'm facing the problem that computer has frozen few times and I had to hard reset him. Today when I did that it cannot boot. Computer goes to bios at start. My tries to fix/diagnose it:

  • The [ESC] boot menu doesn't show me any positions even though I
    plugged bootable USB stick in.

  • In the bios menu I've tried to reset all to default settings but it didn't help.

  • In the "Boot" tab in bios I cannot set boot priorities

Is my ssd hard drive dead? why can't I boot from USB?
