is it possible to navigate though workspaces just like mac using mouse gestures in ubuntu?

i tried using easystroke. But it didn't work out to the expected level. any other way to achieve this in ubuntu?

Try Gestikk. You can also try compiz. Look for the Scale plugin config window.
