I have a dell XPS M1530. Long story short it kept on crashing at seemingly random points, and diagnostics returned error 2000-0123.

This turns out to be a Ram or a motherboard error according to these articles.

So I took out one of the 2 memory chips and ran diagnostics on it, then tried in the other memory slot and repeated for the second chip. On all 4 diagnostic runs no errors were returned, but when both chips are used(in any configuration of slots) I get the corrupt memory error.

Any ideas where the problem might be?

I'm hoping that it's just duff ram and not a motherboard problem, It's running Ubuntu fine with just one chip.

extra: realized it was in the chips after finding this article.
