Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I need to edit an .swf file, cached by Internet Explore (IE version doens't matter), so that when a certain website opens, IE should use the cached file, instead of the newer one.

I disabled checking for "newer versions of stored pages" in Tools->Internet Options->general->Settings (I set it to "Never"), but IE refuses to use my edited .swf and .jpg files, it reloads them from the Internet instead.

How can I force IE use my cached, edited files?

EDIT: btw, it works fine in Firefox, all you need is to set "browser.cache.check_doc_frequency" to 2. Now I need to do the same for IE somehow, please help me.
