I'm exploring the world of GNU/Linux.

I don't really need fancy AA smoothing or subpixels.
It hurts my eyes even @ 96 dpi.

I just need extremely sharp & contrast fonts.
Maybe it's just me but the way winxp without cleartype
renders them is ok, not perfect but acceptable for me.

I've tried infinality and clearfonts configs with ttf-ms-fonts
Still some fonts don't look the same. Some broken hinting or something.

Has anybody achieved the same? Can you share your configs?

The terminus xterm bitmap font is perfect, though it's mono.

Is it possible to use only bitmap fonts in webpage rendering and ifaces?
