I just recovered my Windows 7 system after a crash using startup repair. It seems Windows has restored to a previous point. The problem was HDD related after some software uninstaller started creating a huge number of temp files.

Now that Windows is working again, I have a weird problem with https URLs. First it shows me that all certificates were invalid, even Google, Yahoo and other big sites. I was able to add exceptions for some but that didn't work for all of the sites. And images/css/etc that uses https still won't load. I reinstalled Firefox but the problem still persist, installed Chrome and it has the same problem, so this seems like a Windows problem.

What could be broken which is causing this?
