I have a Flipcam 3rd generation (http://www.amazon.com/Flip-UltraHD-Video-Camera-Generation/dp/B0040702HA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399636080&sr=8-1&keywords=flipcam)
and when imported into sony vegas movie studio platinum 12 the preview window is choppy, even at low resolutions.

This does not happen with other video sources. Video from the built in camera can be imported and have 6 effects applied before it starts getting choppy.

From what I have heard, previewing mostly uses the CPU, but when previewing the cpu runs at about 50-60 percent only.

also, my preview window is set at the lowest quality (draft quarter) and it will still have problems occasionally

Please give any suggestions about what to do to achieve a smoother playback in the preview window while editing. Thanks!

My computer should be powerful enough:

CPU: Intel Core i7 3610QM with turbo boost to 3.1 ghz on all 4 cores

GPU: nvidia gtx 630M (acceleration is on in sony vegas)

Ram: 8gb
