I just bought an OEM SSD. In order to mount it in my case I need a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter. Rather then wait for shipping, I'd like to run out to a store and buy one. Doing a quick search at local retailers yielded me no results.

I understand this question maybe a little off topic, but I imagine many users here have had to make this same choice. Someone might be able to quickly save others some time by answering this.

Of course, stock, as well as region, has an effect. I'll be able to confirm answers with my local retailer. I'm just looking for someone to point me to a place where they've had success in finding these adapters before.

you'd have better luck getting your local yellowpages and calling. – quack quixote Nov 30 '09 at 22:58

Fry's and MicroCenter sell those.

Many local "Mom and Pop" tech shops should carry them, you'll probably have a harder time finding them at a larger electronics chain. FYI, in the meantime, it is safe to have it sit at the bottom of your case. Since they do not spin or put off very much heat, it is safe to rest them unmounted in the case.

This is true. Its more of a mental "its finished" thing. I have a feeling this is what i'll end up doing though. – TheDeeno Nov 30 '09 at 21:41
Well sometimes accessories like this are significantly marked up at brick & mortar stores. This was just a stopgap suggestion in case you need to order one online. – MDMarra Nov 30 '09 at 21:58
