I want to remove data from a Netgear Stora drive that I can no longer access via the Stora itself. The drive appears to be fine, but the Stora is fighting with my router, and it's old and somewhat unsupported, so I want to strip data out and get a new NAS system. The Stora drive was moved to my Win8 desktop, I can mount it when I boot from a USB Ubuntu install, but I cannot seem to get around the permission issue.

I'm mounting as follows:

sudo mkdir /media/stora
sudo mount -t -xfs -r /dev/sdb1 /media/stora

The drive opens in Ubuntu, I can see folders, but I get

You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "folderName"

when I try to access either of the permission locked folders. I know username and password for these folders, but can't figure out how to add them. Thoughts?
