I've recently wanted to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop which is currently running solely Ubuntu. I've downloaded and iso and tried burning it to both a cd and a usb but when I boot from either of those, it says there's no operating system on there. I have free space to install it on and I know it isn't just something going wrong when burning the image. I've tried running the setup.exe while still booted in Ubuntu and it'll pop up and start acting like it's going to let me install it that way but then it says I can't install it because the partition is active and can't be overwritten.

I've run out of ideas to try. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there some convoluted way I have to go about installing Windows if Linux is installed first?
