I'm using Org 8.2.2. I'm trying to export Org document to HTML such that it preserves ".org" extension in links. I've found two ways that work, but none is satisfactory:

  1. I can customize org-html-link-org-files-as-html (this isn't good because I want the change to be applied only locally).
  2. I can set file-local variable org-html-extension: "org" (this isn't good because I'm not the only person using the document and other user would prefer not using file-local variables.

After reading the documentation I thought that either of these:

#+OPTIONS: html-extension:".org"

or

:PROPERTIES:
:EXPORT_HTML_EXTENSION: .org
:END:

would have to work. I've tried many variations of the above (with quotes and without, with colons on both sides and on either side etc. Well, I'm still here.

I tried to look int the source, but there's just too much of it, and it's really difficult to understand what's going on there. I also found a "fixme" comment in the ox-html.el which may suggest that this simply isn't supposed to work, on the other hand all through the code I see (plist-get info :html-extension) calls, but despite my best effort Org this is never set to "org", it's always "html"... Any hints?
