Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

While using Google Chrome, if you search (CTRL+F) for a text on the current webpage, it starts matching the text as you type and based on where the string is located on the page, it scrolls the match automatically into view. However sometimes, by the time you finish typing the complete query, there's no match (i.e. 0 of 0 in find box). In that case, is it possible to return back to the original scroll/vertical position in the web page?

It's very annoying when you are cross-referencing something and lose your original location. Better yet, is there a way to return back to original location even if you find a match.
