my linux is fedora core 5. I need some chinese fonts for it.

Update to Fedora 12. It has lots of Chinese fonts available to install. (Plus there are plenty of other reasons for updating)

You can get them from ftp.gnu.org. Read the Unicode HOWTO.

Wen Quan Yi (English, 中文) is the single best font with the widest codepoint coverage. Accept no substitutes.
