I'm looking for a document scanner at a reasonable price point that allows me to drop a stack of papers in and have it scan them all (fairly speedily, quality doesn't matter so much) as PDF files (primary goal - digitising things like bank statements, medical records, etc.). Even better if it works nicely with OSX.

have a look at the Neat ADF Scanner

enter image description here

The world’s first ADF scanner designed and engineered from the ground up to scan business cards, receipts and documents in one batch. It zips through documents one after another and gives you crisp, digital images and data you can use. The Neat ADF scanner handles color or black and white, one-sided (simplex) or two-sided (duplex).

Oooh. That looks pretty close to perfect. Thanks! I'll probably be accepting this. :-) – ceejayoz Dec 3 '09 at 22:46

I wound up going with an HP Officejet 8500 Pro, due to the scanner/copier/fax functionality.
