I just bought this laptop...and it's sick...but whenever I take it out of charge the battery drops...I turned the backlight the lowest... HELP!

you could just have a bad battery and might have to get it replaced. you can buy a better HP PAVILION DV9000 Battery. in general for all batteries you want to use as much of the battery as possible then charge it up fully. keeping the laptop plugged in all the time might not be the best way to keep your battery life long either.
