I have my taskbar on Win7 all customized. I have it at the top of the screen, and i have the address bar, desktop toolbar, and a custom folder toolbar all turned on. I have it set to two rows, and have the taskbar and desktop on one row and the address bar and custom folder on the second row.

When i shutdown then restart my computer it remembers that i have the taskbar at the top of the screen, but it does not remember the way i had the various bars organized, and it just makes it a single row with the bars all mushed together on one row.

Anyone else had this/know how to fix it?

Running Win7 Ultimate x64.

Not sure if this will work (which is why it's just a comment), but have you locked the taskbar? – Chris Dwyer Dec 4 '09 at 22:03
Yah, I've tried locking it, unlocking it, locking it again. Doesn't seem to help, though it was a good idea! – eidylon Dec 5 '09 at 2:40
It took me a while to convince Windows 7 to leave my desktop arranged the way I want it, but (knock on wood) it seems to have gotten the hint now. Have you tried arranging things as you want them, then immediately shutting down the computer and turning it back on again? (Note: do an actual shut down, not a restart.) I've found that if you let anything else do the shutting down for you (an update or something), then it's less likely to remember your settings. – Martha Feb 2 '10 at 0:28
