judging from the configurator and a quick test, kwin enables zoom but only in discrete "jumps" and it seems i cannot control it from the scrolwheel; is there a way to get those behaviours even in kwin?

i've already tried to enable compiz with kde on fedora 12 but i cannot get the damn decorations; i've doublechecked the compiz conf with ccsm, decorations are active.

the zoom control is unfortunately a deal-breaker; i'm a long time gnome user and i would like to switch to kde for an htpc, but if i cannot finely and comfortably control the zooming, i'll have to stick with gnome.

thank you in advance

I think running compiz over kde may be a bit wasteful... However, your video card is well supported? (since kde4 got some problem with nvida cards). I'm not on my pc in this moment, when I go home I can check the zoom on my kde4.3.4 – Giancarlo Dec 23 '09 at 13:02
sorry, I think you can get the scrollwheel zomming. About kde window decorations under compiz seems to be a common problem on fedora: google.it/… – Giancarlo Dec 27 '09 at 15:11
