Is there any smart phone app which functions like a visual counterpart to Shazam software, which identifies what it hears? I.e. a Word Definer or a Painting Identifier?

I want to hold up my smartphone to a word and I want there to be an app that defines it, or to hold it up to an image and for the app to identify the painter of what is in the .jpeg or the subject of the photo of what is in the .jpeg.

Google has released Google Goggles for Android phones, which uses images from the phone's camera to identify artwork (as well as geographic locations, books, logos etc).
