I have a couple of 2TB seagate drives. I have read that it is not a good idea to try a secure erase via a USB adaptor as it can brick a drive. Before I start to figure out how to get these HDDs hooked up normally via a SATA cable, I was wondering how I could figure out if the drives supported the ATA Secure Erase command.

I use a linux system, just not sure what commands I could execute to figure this out, if any exist. Any help?
