I have installed Windows Server 2003 but my internet does not work. I checked under My Computer > Hardware > Device Driver that the driver for Ethernet Controller is missing (also missing is SM Bus Controller). Please guide me about how to proceed with finding the appropriate driver.

I don't have past related experience and currently there is not any person I know who I can ask (I mean physically).

Other Info:

Computer: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHZ. I physically checked that the LAN port is on the motherboard.

Is there some tag/label that can help me find the appropriate driver?

I've tried searching on Intel Downloads, but it is not very useful as I could filter down to about 20 choices, then I tried 1-2 choices and they didn't work. The device driver installation would simply bail out even after providing the appropriate location of the device driver. I cannot connect to the internet to be able to run their "device driver tool" because of the problem I need to fix.

It might be helpful to tell us the model of the motherboard, if you don't know the model of the ethernet controller. – phoebus Dec 15 '09 at 8:06
Gigabyte G33M s2L F2. I used the tips at ehow.com/how_4474358_find-motherboards-model-name.html to check the motherboard model at the first step of the boot. – phaedrus Dec 16 '09 at 2:48
