I use Ubuntu and the tsclient app to connect to a Windows server is "ok" but it errors out on disconnect a lot and it isn't very "pretty".

Is there any alternatives out there? I've seen rdesktop but can't figure out if there is a decent gui for it.

I really like the RDP client that comes with Windows 7 and would look to that for inspiration trying to find something.

Thanks for the help

Are you able to install anything on the server? – John T Dec 17 '09 at 2:33
yeah, but there are 58 servers. I don't want to deal with putting VNC or similar on them. I need it to be RDP – TheCleaner Dec 17 '09 at 2:40

Ah...I actually found exactly what I needed...

GRDC and GRDESKTOP and GRDC-GNOME.

These worked perfectly and provided that "pretty GUI" I was used to in Windows.

EDIT: The new version is called Remmina

EDIT 2X: I noticed that there are a number of plugins so install remmina for all:

Running Transaction
  Installing : remmina-plugins-common-0.9.2-1000.el6.x86_64 1/13
  Installing : freerdp-legacy-libs-0.8.2-2.el6.x86_64 2/13

  Installing : nx-3.3.0-38.el6.x86_64 7/13
  Installing : remmina-plugins-nx-0.9.2-1000.el6.x86_64 8/13
  Installing : remmina-plugins-vnc-0.9.2-1000.el6.x86_64 9/13
  Installing : remmina-plugins-telepathy-0.9.2-1000.el6.x86_64 10/13
  Installing : remmina-plugins-rdp-0.9.2-1000.el6.x86_64 11/13

Note base app was already installed with just SSH plugins (default).

Went ahead and posted my two favorites, since I found the one when I used gnome.

With gnome I was using gnome-rdp, never had a problem, great interface and allowed grouping.

Now that I am using KDE I am using KRDC, which is distrubuted with KDE. I can't find a page for it. I actually like it better b/c it is tabbed interface. So each connection gets a tab. It allows for Bookmarks also, and grouping of those bookmarks.

GRDC is the gnome version...see my post. They should really consider replacing the tsclient with these. – TheCleaner Dec 17 '09 at 5:34
