there are a few songs of mine that just will not play, when i click the play button literally nothing at all happens. when i try to "make an mp3 file" (i did this just for a test) i get a error -50

i have the most recent version of itunes and only 1 addon that displays lyrics although this is not causing it as i have tested with it off and removed.

i did try out this itunes lyrics getter, but it shouldn't have saved anything.

i can listen to the songs in any other player other than itunes.

also, i am using windows 7 64 bit

NOTICE: I DID REALIZE THAT I HAD A BACKUP OF THE FILES SO I DO NOT NEED ANY HELP, however i will leave this open for future people with this problem in case someone finds a solution.

Did you recently add those files? Where did they come from orginally? – Troggy Dec 20 '09 at 3:59
i don't even remember where i got them from, i got them a year or two ago, and they had moved to my new computer from my old one. and up until today i have had no problems with itunes playing any songs. – crazybmanp Dec 20 '09 at 4:51
You should add your solution as an answer and accept it (though you'll have to wait a couple of days). This way people will more easily see what the solution was. – ChrisF Dec 20 '09 at 18:34
i do not see why this question is closed, it applies to anyone that has had all of their songs stop working. – crazybmanp Jun 25 '10 at 0:46

Where did the music files come from originally? What player will play them successfully? If they are DRM-protected files only the original player will be able to play them.
