I am using Opera on snow leopard and on some download page, it just stops responding (I expect it to download the file).

ie. when i tried to download Chrome for Mac http://www.google.com/chrome/thankyou.html?platform=mac

Anything I can do to fix this other than using other browser?

More details are needed. I just downloaded Chrome using Opera 10.10 on OS X 10.6.2 without a problem. A dialog box came up asking if I wanted to open or save the file, and what program to open it with. After I clicked Save, another dialog came up asking where I wanted to save it. Also, that link you currently have in your post is for the thank you page after you download Chrome. Link directly to google.com/chrome instead. – fideli Dec 31 '09 at 3:21

I am using opera 10.10. The dialog box does not come up after I click the "Get Google Chrome" link. Where can I set this? – lydonchandra Dec 31 '09 at 15:29
"Stops responding" means that the browser is not responding at all after the expected start of the download (i.e. you can't use the other open tabs too) or the browser seems to work except that it doesn't download the file you wants? – ytg Jan 17 '10 at 16:45
