You can use a third party download manager such as Free Download Manager.

The Microsoft Download Manager works well at resuming, but if you are not using that / doing a standard download, this should help you instead.

I've never had much luck with Microsoft's Download Manager (only ever had about 1 in 10 downloads over 1GB ever work using it).

Not sure which web browser you're using but just using the direct download link with Firefox works for me every time, and IE8 is a lot more relieable than IE7 or IE6 were (and IIRC neither of those would work at all for downloads over 1GB).

Don't resume it using the shortcut on your Desktop. For a lot of people this just corrupts the file.

Go back to the Download Manager link, and click that again. It should now resume correctly.
