Is there a way to generate a PDF file from a Microsoft Word document on OSX so that it generates PDF bookmarks based on the structure of the document?

I've tried opening the .docx file using OpenOffice and saving to PDF, and it basically works, but a lot of the formatting gets screwed up because the document is fairly complex.

File -> Print, then selecting PDF (either using Adobe or the Word Universal document converter) is not working or available?

Have you tried an online service like doc2pdf?

The first method does not create bookmarks. doc2pdf works, though. – fideli Jan 3 '10 at 4:58

Tell Word to generate Tagged PDF. See my answer to the more or less the same question: http://superuser.com/questions/95222/from-word-to-pdf-including-bookmarks/95226#95226
