I'm not sure you even need to do all that, I've logged into hotmail directly from mail using just the regular account setup - typed the hotmail address in and pwd and Mail did the rest. | |||

I am using Mail 4.3. It is intelligent enough to figure out the crud details, such as the POP/SMTP host addresses, from merely the email address. As alimack has mentioned, simply add a new account, provide your email address and password, and let Mail.app configure the rest of the stuff for you. Nothing else to it. | |||
