Disk Management is the Windows disk partitioning and management utility, implemented as an MMC snap-in. Disk Management can be used to:
- create, delete, format, and resize partitions (volumes)
- assign drive letters to volumes
- manipulate dynamic volumes, which can span multiple physical disks (in select editions of Windows only)
- manage mounted VHD and VHDX disk images (since Windows 8)
More detailed usage information on Disk Management can be found in Microsoft documentation.
