Intel Core i5 is a sub-brand of Intel's Core brand, used for multi-core 64-bit microprocessors designed for mid-range laptop and desktop computers. Compared to the higher-end Core i7 processors, these usually have lower clock speeds and less L3 cache, with the mobile versions being limited to only 2 cores. Earlier generations also lacked some features like HyperThreading, but included an integrated graphics processor that the i7 series didn't gain until the second generation.
