Intel Core i7 is a sub-brand of Intel's Core brand, used for multi-core 64-bit microprocessors designed for high-end laptop and desktop computers. Compared to the lower-end Core i5 and i3 processors, these feature the highest clock speeds, largest amounts of L3 cache, largest number of processor cores (up to 6 in some desktop models), and generally the highest performance. Many models feature unlocked multipliers, allowing for easy overclocking; these models are sold under the "Extreme Edition" moniker.
