Internet Explorer is a web browser developed by Microsoft, first made available with a Windows 95 add-on and later bundled with the Windows Operating System. Internet Explorer has been the most widely used web browser in the world since 1999; its current share of the market is 43.55% as of February 2011.
With increasing competition from other web browsers (such as firefox and google-chrome), Microsoft has released a number of versions of Internet Explorer in recent times, the most recent of which scores 95/100 on the Acid3 web standards test.
A Mac version of Internet Explorer was included with Mac OS X until OS X 10.2.
