How to create symbolic link relative to the other symbolic link?
Remove the /2701x/server symlinks; create folders in their place; use mount -o bind to set up a "bind mount" from /server to each /2701x/server.

On which computer are mounted files executed?
For all the protocols you mention, the file is downloaded to the client system (often to temp storage), and then executed locally. The protocols do not expose remote compute, only storage.

Symbolic Link not working in sub-directory?
