comment IF formula where the test is a logical value in OpenOffice
Have you tried different variations of E2? All caps, all lowercase, and finally 0 or 1? The formula works for me in both Excel 2010 and LibreOffice Calc. Do you have the = before the IF? Also, are all the cells normally formatted?

comment Can type new text into an existing Word document in a different color?
Can you just bold or italicize your added text? That's usually easier than changing fonts, sizes, and colors. On Word for Windows, you can also try highlighting some text, changing the color, and then highlighting more text and pressing F4 to have it reapply the last action to your new selection. It will only be on the last action, and not a sequence of actions though.

comment How to sum varying groups of numbers in excel?
@MichaelMiles-Stimson: The trick about this question is that the ranges keep changing, so there has to be a way of tracking that. I propose helper columns. Is there another way of doing that within the SumIf?

comment Windows 7 / SMB2 slow network copy performance
Have you tried the original xcopy (for comparison)? Also, have you tried playing with the Interpacket Gap? See here for an interesting article which may shed some light.

comment Are SATA cables interchangeable?
AndyD, can you please provide model numbers of the PSUs and of the cables themselves? Can you also take pictures of the connectors and ports, as @MaQleod suggested?

comment Apache proxy: Why is one vhost returning Forbidden while the other one works?
Have you configured the external app's firewalls and/or the "homegroup" (or its equivalent)? I just recently had a networking issue which was solved by both tweaking the firewall and by ensuring the homegroup was set correctly.

comment Calendar shows lighter/greyed out items
Can you post screen shots of the event details themselves? Is it possible that they are from another calendar (shared calendar), or that they are shared with another person? Is it possible that they are in conflict with another event (same time)?

+1, I also had to choose a homegroup for the current network in order for the rule to work. Thanks @ricardo.

comment How can I change the color of the text that I have already written in OneNote?
Thanks for the thorough response! When I select all, though, the "Treat Selected Link As" option disappears. It only seems to work if I highlight the handwriting, not with Ctrl-A. I think it might be because of the non-linear way I take notes -- it creates a bunch of overlapping containers on the page... Any suggestions?

comment What does “File not found” mean on a web page?
I think the period was the end of the error message's sentence: Firefox can't find the file at [URL].

comment Why does Chrome sometimes download a website instead of showing it?
Have you checked other browsers to see if it's only a problem in Chrome? If so and the problem exists elsewhere as well, you may have a virus. Try on FF or IE and see if the same thing happens.
