comment I want to cut a transparent line through my text
@CollisionOfConcepts Layer > Layer mask > Apply is actually not what you want. Apply applies the mask to the layer. If it makes it any easier, you can think of it as something like 'mask rasterizer'. Apply is something that you can use when you already have a Layer mask. When you Apply a mask, the hidden parts of the mask are permanently removed from your layer and the mask will be removed because it's no longer needed (You can't use Apply on every single layer type). What you want is either Layer > Layer mask > ... Reveal selection or Hide selection.

comment Prevent user from reading or copying file
Whether or not this makes any sense depends on the use case, but you can hide files/folders. That would prevent users from doing any of that, assuming that the user has no reason to believe files are hidden and or doesn't know how to show them.

comment Window Manager for saving window position and binding to hotkey for restore (OS X)
Slate is the only free one I know that can restore window positions. I think you might be able to give it a hotkey to send a window in a specific position in the secondary screen. I personally use display maid, which is a bit cheaper than Stay.

comment modify toolbar in illustrator cs6
I don't know how Astute graphics plugins would work with this, but in CC and later you can create custom tool panels: Adobe help - Adobe blog

comment Advice for recovering a lost psd file in photoshop
If the file was accidentally removed, it is possible to use file recovery software to get it back... for a while. If you wait too long, it won't be possible anymore. Emptying the trashcan is not exactly like shredding a file. It's more like forgetting where you put it. But over time it is replaced by data.

comment Import groups from Photoshop PSD?
I'm not sure how the "can't be edited directly in the template document" is related to this, but that is true. All Smart objects are edited within a separate document, and frankly that sucks.

@K20GH The way Place linked works, is that you are always editing the original document. So if you right-click a Smart object that was placed using Place linked and you go to Edit contents, it opens up the original document and updates those changes to your work document(s) when you save. If you've ever linked documents in Illustrator, it works exactly the same way.

comment How to hide all layer except one in photoshop cs5.5?
@BenRacicot Yes you can. In the Window > History panel you'll find a corner menu ( Icon at the top right corner of the panel ). Click it and go to History options.... In there you will find a checkbox that makes layer visibility undoable. Once you enable it, you can use the method in my answer and revert back to prior state with Ctrl+Z.

comment Cloud brushes for Photoshop
..and making like 7 circles and duplicating those twice and doing 1 invert and one gradient addition is not a big deal, like 30second job. Fasters than if you look for a brush to do it.
