yes you can do this if you have two nic card in your system. just connect to the internet through one nic card to your service provider and connect your laptop to another nic card and configure LAN provide gateway address to your second nic card the ip address you get on another nic card.

@Charles Chappell - Your point of discussion is also true. we can't have control on replacing the file. But in my opinion by making iso we can become safe from virus to much extent. You can take a cup of coffee from me.

you are talking about permission on the file. your question is about data stored inside the file. can you modify the content stored inside the iso file if you have only read permission on the iso?

pls try to create one iso file containing .exe file and it should be password protected. then from coding try to infect it or change something present it. If you can do then i offer a cup of coffee to you.

iso files are write protected. you cannot modify the content stored in iso file specially when they are password protected. so how a virus can affect the data stored in it. Viruses mostly affect the .exe file. if you store your .exe file in iso format than it never get affected with the virus. you can try this technique to make your .exe file safe from virus. I am using this technique since 8 years.
