comment Firefox: Using multiple instances with different profiles?
firefox -no-remote -P brings up the profile manager for me. Anyway, you can avoid dealing with the Profile Manager at all using the -profile switch as described in my answer.

comment Missing Paste special options in Excel 2010
Seems unrelated; I tried it and it affects only the context menu for me. Sorry if this in fact is the answer to the original question.

comment Starting Firefox with a specified profile from the dock (Mac OS X)
@DanielBeck: Thanks for the tip! Somehow I missed it when you posted it. Note to other readers: you will need the -n flag (as in open -n -a Firefox.app --args -no-remote -P ...) to open multiple instances, as by default open focuses the existing application.

comment Firefox - always show the tabs in fullscreen mode
Perfect with <addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/prospector-lessChrome-HD/…;, which auto-hides the navigation bar.

comment Why does firefox load significantly faster on the second launch?
alex: Sorry, I guess for me the basic answer (something somewhere is cached) is obvious, so I expected the OP to want to know the particulars :)

comment Why does firefox load significantly faster on the second launch?
That's a gross simplification. "Firefox" itself is not cached, but many things it accesses on startup are indeed cached.

comment Cycling through minimized windows
It's the best solution I found, but it's not perfect... Sometimes hangs for a while before the alt-tab list comes up. Also, it's 10 Euros for something that should be part of any decent window manager.
