Just a geek :)

Beware of wauzers, for they are crafty, and like cheese.

I'm a singaporean computer geek with a very wierd set of majors, and a odder sense of humour. Many people are convinced I'm an ultra intellegent dog, which I neither confirm nor deny. My avatar is a small organic canid of slightly uncertain heritage and a lot of attitude called Ash, who happens to be my public face on the internet.

I'm also one of the top users on superuser. While my answers and edits have hopefully gotten better over the years, there's occasions where I'm uncertain whether my edits are of acceptable quality or not. When this is the case, I rely on my cybernetic counterpart, Aibobot to do edits. Feel free to accept or reject these edits as you would those done by a new user.

I used licecap - you can see an example of me using it in this answer, recorded using licecap.

comment Ultra ATA to SATA adapters
Another option might be to find a PCI sata card that supports booting. Might be slightly more expensive but you'll have a better chance of it working, and more ports - these typically have 4.

comment i3-2350M at 2.30 GHz vs i7-3517U at 3 GHz
Core i3s and i5s usually have 2 cores + HT. A 'consumer' non EE core i7 has 4 and HT, so essentially runs 8 threads (EE cores are essentially a whole different line with some similarities with xeons). However, there's just so many possible bottlenecks with video that you may be comparing apples and oranges, when what you need to be looking at are durians.

comment What Alt+f4 actually does? Will using it frequently cause any harm to the system?
No, you had a quit tag. I deleted that. and an alt and program which someone else deleted. Try to use tags like salt, sparingly and in good taste, rather than pouring it on. If it dosen't help someone search for your question easily, it shouldn't be there.

I just deleted the quit tag. Considering how much trouble deleting meta tags is, creating a new one is... not cool.

comment Is There a way to permanently apply replaygain info to many flac files?
The whole point of replaygain (and I suppose flac) is not to have to do any changes to the original file.

comment Which XEN IOMMU features are min needed for VGA passthru?
supposedly nvidia GPUs don't do passthrough - so you'd probably want to use a AMD GPU here
