comment If you only run one OS, is Partitioning worth it?
@Svish I had to reinstall my system multiple times, lost no data despite only having a single partition. The Windows setup moves the old installation to a Windows.old folder so that data are not lost.

comment Is it possible to install Windows 8 without Internet Explorer?
pkgmgr does not allow you to uninstall IE, or any system components for that matter. It is used for managing updates (or rather was, in Windows 7 it was replaced by dism)

comment Can I access the Windows RT Browser in Windows Pro?
@Ramhound Look in the File menu of the desktop mode. It says “open in immersive browser” right there, fifth item from the top.

comment What is the technical term for current (.) and parent (..) directory?
@JensErat I would use IsDotOrDotDot. Anyone knowledgeable with filesystem concepts would instantly understand it. It is debatable whether .bash_history is “dot” because no context is provided then for the meaning of “dot”, but it is definitely NOT “dot or dot dot”.

@LPChip Completely agree. Opera 12 is the only Android browser that allows me to disable rescaling of images, and i use it to this day.
