comment Using native resolution on external display results in stretched, out of bounds image
Maybe because VGA can't handle this high resolution optimally.

How is the netbook connected to the monitor? Which connection type (cable) do you use?

comment Editor which can open files in use?
On the other hand: maybe Tony_Heinrich only wants to open it for reading. Thus, a file viewer would be sufficient. Or an editor which opens locked files as read only.

comment iTunes won't sync with my iPhone
But the error is only shown when you plug it into the computer, isn't it? I thought of a complete factory restore wich resets the iPhone to the delivery status.

comment What is “Interlacing” when referring to a computer monitor or display?
Yes, but it should not be forgotten, that this is for the price of lower actual refresh rate. For example, 50 Hz interlaced is flickering (only 25 full pictures per second are shown). That's why the later CRTs had 100Hz or more to eliminate flickering.

Is it a new iPhone, or did you already synch it with your PC before the re-install?

comment Image doesn't fill monitor when connected via HDMI
Well, okay. I did not take into account that some TVs/monitors do not have a "just scan" setting.

when you change the output signal, this would not result in optimal image quality. I think the problem is on the monitor/TV side. The monitor should be set to something like "just scan" as opposed to "overscan".

comment Music playback stumbles or nearly stops when copying from an external USB stick to an external USB hard drive
This helps, thank you. But as it seams, my problem is much bigger than I thought before. All data transfer from external USB to external USB is very slow, and the PC is stalling.

comment what is difference between logoff and shutdown?
Because Windows XP is always multi-user, even if you only use one user.
