@AndreasRejbrand Yes it is only a temporary fix, the best solution is to disable the "Fade out Menu Items after clicking" setting as detailed in other answers.

Thanks, IE7Pro did what I wanted. I was able to disable the features I didn't need, and also was able to download an English (UK) spelling dictionary.
