Dell Latitude D820 Max Screen Resolution Well, if you can't go beyond 1280 x 800, then you very likely have a WXGA. It should be possible to change the LCD. See for example lcds4less.com/…. |

What's the best Ubuntu backup solution for a non-technical user? You should always verify the full restore feature. If it doesn't work, there is no point in backing up anything. Luckily for you, I can certify that Back In Time restore actually works :) BTW, I can't say I had positive experience with Flyback and TimeVault (can't remember exactly but it was either because of bugs or lack of activity). |

How to set my Ubuntu account to super user at all times? The security risk is not the network, the security risk is the human sitting behind the computer, in other words YOU. |

How to set my Ubuntu account to super user at all times? Even this is not a good solution actually. You don't want all permissions to be set as root:root. No, the OP should learn to do things the right way, end of the discussion :) |

How to set my Ubuntu account to super user at all times? That's why I didn't even mention sudo su (but, well, there is a menu entry to get a Root Terminal afterall). |

What are good linux programming environments for windows? Just for the record, Warcraft do run fine with Wine (I'm not playing anymore but I did so I know what I'm talking about). |

What are good linux programming environments for windows? I've fully switched to GNU/Linux for some years now and run Windows in a VM for very special needs like Lotus Notes (sigh). When I have to use Windows (like on a corporate machine), I like to install cygwin but there are good alternatives, that's true. But this is a matter of taste. |

What are good linux programming environments for windows? You don't use a package manager with Cygwin but it does have a kind of repository. Regarding the ability to run programs graphically, What kind of programs? Can you clarify this? This is confusing, I don't know get you don't boot under Ubuntu then. What are you using Windows for? PS: I've read your concern about dual-booting but I don't get how a graphical environment allows you to give better answers. |

GNOME File Management Framework As I said, this is the closest thing I'm aware of so I can't give you a better answer. Then, regarding the place your question belongs to, I didn't vote to close your question and didn't retag it so I don't know why you're asking this question to me :) I actually think it's programming related. |

What is a subnet mask, and the difference between a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and 255.0.0.0? In practice, I use classes :) And it's not the important part of the answer. But thank you for the clarification. |
