My real name is Alistair, and I'm just your everyday amateur programmer :)

I enjoy using C# and batch, and I am planning on learning C, if I ever get round to it!

I love dinosaurs, and birdwatching, and anything nature or prehistory related. I also enjoy general computer stuff so you might see me over at SuperUser occasionally.

I will do almost anything for a laugh, and am always looking for something fun to do, even if it is a bit stupid :D

Are you launching it from an actual command prompt or a GF console window?

In that case I would still advise wiping. Past experience has taught me that the time it takes to backup, wipe and restore, is much much faster than the time it takes to remove the malware, plus you can be sure it is gone if you wipe it.

You might have just disabled a critical service, which is causing problems, try pressing F8 on boot and booting into safe mode. If you can do that just enable all the stuff you disabled.

What did you stop running? Did you stop any MS services?

Just put the disk in, if you miss the bios just reboot and press F12 as @ultrasawblade suggested, set either the CD drive or USB (whichever you are booting off) as the first device to boot from, and run through the install :)

You will need to set the boot device as first in the BIOS if that's what you mean?

@MaylorTaylor No worries :) As Mark suggested, use psexec, that will work well.
