My primary OS is Windows 7. I used Fedora for a while on my old computer, but my new one is fast enough I don't see any boost from using Fedora.

Wups, I forgot I had asked this. I actually figured out the answer through an unrelated question.

comment How can I return focus to the previous window?
I'm hoping for a way to access the Windows API and get the ID of the window on top of the stack.

The only problem with this is that my console window is set to stay on top, and is semi-transparent, so I can still work on other windows while it is up. Because of this, the window that is on top of the stack when I finish with the console may not be the same window that was active when I opened it.

Exactly why I'm looking for something to put in the AHK script to return focus to it.

That takes me to the bottom window in the stack.

@OlivierDulac I tried that, that takes it to the second window in the stack. I suppose I could do two alt-tabs, but that's an ugly kludge.

comment Skype mutes In-game sounds
I believe Skype by default mutes other sounds when you're on a call. There's probably something in the settings for that. I'd give a more in depth answer, but I recently stopped using Skype.

comment Programs open IE, despite Chrome being default browser
@Karan - Right clicked and hit view source. Based on Oliver S's answer, it seems like it uses the IE rendering engine in the exe or something. Not sure how that sort of thing works.

Hm... If it's a standalone application that uses the IE rendering engine (that may not be exactly how it works, but something like that), would it open an IE window?

@Karan - I suspect it is, although it's launched as a regular application and runs in its own window.

@Ramhound - I was hoping to find some way to intercept the script request and send it to Chrome instead of IE.

They must have done something different to force it to launch in IE.

I've added the bit of script that does it at the bottom of my question, as it didn't format properly in a comment.
