My primary OS is Windows 7. I used Fedora for a while on my old computer, but my new one is fast enough I don't see any boost from using Fedora.

Even if you could get it installed, would any of the downloaded packages work?

Does this apply to all methods of shutting down, or just the command line?

If you open a text document, type some stuff, and leave it open, won't it prompt to save it before it shuts down? If you type something like "I'm SSH'd in, DON'T SHUT DOWN!", he'll see that if he tries to shut it down.

comment How do I know what Steam is downloading?
I think if you hover over the Steam icon it will say what it is downloading.

comment How to get google chrome to stop changing the address I enter?
My chrome did this the other day. It's never done it before, but when I tried to go to a website, it searched it in google instead. Very odd.

comment How to find out why Fedora will not resume
Ah, well it's probably not the same issue, then. That's actually a good thing, it means you may have a chance at fixing it!

comment How to find out why Fedora will not resume
Well, I meant the brand, actually. I had an HP computer, and because they use some proprietary drivers which Fedora was unable to acquire, it had a similar issue. It would go to sleep, but wouldn't wake up. Fortunately, it booted/shut down so fast it wasn't really an issue.

comment Select firefox search result
As it is now, pressing enter when the search is highlighting a link will select that link. That's one of the things I miss, which I wish Chrome had.

comment Is there an easier way to see the contents of the optional Windows 7 updates?
On the left side of the Windows Update window, there should be tabs for important and optional updates. Or are you already looking at that, and you want more information?

comment What are the actual speeds of the burn speed options in Zune Software?
I figured they were just trying to simplify it. I'm trying to burn a disc at 1x, and am somewhat disbelievingly discovering that all the software I have with burning capability doesn't actually say what speed it can burn at.

comment New network name created every time I connect a Windows 7 machine to my Nexus One Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
It does the same thing for me on different devices. I'm quite interested in a solution. I never remember that it does that and drive myself nuts trying to figure it out before I see the work/home/public window.

comment Exclude path from Windows 7 search?
Hm, that's odd. Mine searches the path. I've only got Home Premium installed right now. I should probably figure out what I did with my Ultimate.

comment Set process priority to High: Dangerous?
If a process is set to realtime, will it be given absolute priority over all other processes on the core it's running on? I've been trying to find ways to dedicate one of my cores to Dwarf Fortress while it's running.
