comment Fill a large range with a formula in Excel, without mouse-dragging to extend
@MichaelKjörling, good point. I added some more details about how far down Excel will typically fill. It depends a bit on how "established" the range is and whether there is data on either side of the column that you want to fill.

Make up your mind. You can't use one product and ask a question about another. Excel and Google spreadsheet are not the same. And, Yes, there IS a way to build column D (and C) dynamically in Excel. Use a Pivot Table, as I have shown above. Refresh the pivot table when you add more data to the data source. I don't understand what you mean with "I am realy telling the forum look at C2, C3" etc. What forum?

comment Counting number of each item assigned to customer with unlabelled columns
Can you post the Countif() formula you would use for that? Countif() only has one condition. If anything, Countifs() could be used, but the ranges need to be the same size for each condition, so you would have to add several Countifs() function results together. Or, what exactly did you have in mind?

comment How can i add numbers using sum function in vba between ranges
Why the loop? You are overwriting sumx with every step of the loop, but you are not using the result. It does not make sense.

What is the purpose of the nested loop? Please provide more context. Or don't. Unless you want to get help.

It is not clear what you are trying to sum. What is the value of lastrow and lastrowx? More context, please.

@fixer1234, why don't you post that as an answer instead of a comment. You have my upvote.

Not if the cell is truly empty. What is in the cell? Post the formula or the exact contents.

It looks like your "Real" sheet has a formula that pushes an empty string into the cell, like =If(true,"value","") -- The "false" value is an empty string and will be counted. I wish you would include details like that in your question. An empty cell is not the same as a cell that contains a formula that returns a "" string.

comment Excel - can you change the line colour of a Freeze panel divider?
@jcbermu Nice catch, but I agree with Mike Alexander that this most convoluted way to manipulate the line appearance is not the desired solution.

comment How to auto fill increasing values between existing filled cells
(1) I'm showing that the approach does work for multi-column ranges. It also works for single column ranges, of course. (2) Checking for 0 will make sure that the incrementing numbers are only added below cells with a 0 value, not cells with text.

comment Excel formula daily average of weight
You have changed the formula to something completely different. Even the original formula will not calculate what you describe in your question. It will just return the difference between the current row and the previous row's weight, not the average daily difference. Just stick to B3-B2 instead. It does the same thing. The whole Offset or Index exercise is only for geeks dealing with deleting rows. If you don't delete rows, you don't need either Offset or Index.

I see your point. That issue needs to be taken up with Excel in general, though. I've trained myself to avoid Offset wherever possible, because this volatile function will cause workbook slowness. Data samples in forum questions are never the whole picture. Offering volatile functions may be fine for a small data set, but may choke the OP's workbook. Try using Index instead of Offset. In this case it would be =B3-INDEX(B:B,ROW()-1)

Offset? Really? Why use a volatile function when you could just use B2 instead? And that does NOT calculate the weight difference per day.

Is that the total weight of all cattle in column B? Or do you have the individual weight per animal? If so, how do you identify the animal?
