comment repair corrupted PDF
I see where you just said it won't load, but do you get an error? Often times on difficult PDFs I find the PDF viewer built into Linux Mint is extremely resilient and can open files that other programs just cant seem to get their heads around. Reprinting it to PDF from Mint makes a clean pdf that the other programs can then use. I do this many times a month for users at my work.

How do you know it is corrupted? What is happening when you try to open/view the PDF?

Ah, but the monitors arent like, neatly next to eachother where something like Synergy would work nicely then?

Are all monitors connected and running on each computer? You said not video, so I take away from that and picture a desk with say 3 or 4 monitors on it, all connected to different computers each with its own KB and Mouse under it. Is that the setup we are trying to rectify?

Putty will work if all you want to do is see your "console" and have control of the server from the given cli. As far as a full gui, that won't really be possible on a server with no gui.

comment Force screen resolution to its maximum in Windows
@Manu If the answer is no, you need to install them and the proper resolution should appear in your list of options. If the answer is yes then something is wrong and you need to either re-install the drivers of the monitor or the video card in order for it to show in the list. Basically what Lese is saying is if the drivers are installed properly, then the resolution should appear as an option. Lese doesn't seem to think your drivers are installed correctly.

This is not a true multi-monitor environment but if it works for you then that is excellent.

The number of monitors on the work PC is moot, it is running XP and does not support multiple monitor RDP. Please see my answer below.

@ramhound Unfortunately the TARGET PC has to be the one with Windows 7 Enterprise or Ultimate. No, Windows 7 pro does not support it. ONLY Ultimate and Enterprise.

+1 here. Just backup all the data, break the array and create a new one using new drives of like sizes. I think even if you replace each drive in turn with 2TB drives your array will remain the same size. You are better off creating a new array.

comment How to get password of the network connection i'm currently connected to
I think the OP wants his Win 8 instance to auto connect to a wireless network that his Win 7 instance already connects to. I have only used win 8 a small amount, and it was virtualized so I didn't deal with wireless. Regardless though, if you are the owner, or know the owner of the wireless network, put in the key, I would think, like most OS's, it will save once it is put in there. If you don't know the key, you cannot connect.

VirtualBox will have no way of doing what the OP wants to do, VB uses their own drivers bundled with their tool package installed in the guest OS. Ignacio is correct, the answer is no, there is no solution for this in existence.

@DanNeely Sorry Dan, this is what I was taught, and learned to pass the A+, and have so practiced for many years since. If it has changed then so be it, but I always use 100%, if it ENDS UP BEING 90% after opening, then, that's just how it goes, still better than 70%.

comment How to put fear of God (law) into Wi-Fi hacking neighbors
This could invite exactly the trouble I'm sure the OP would like to avoid. S/He has handled it quite well so far, following advice like this could give the hacking neighbors enough taunting to entice them to try harder, or even do something more rash. Additionally, as was mentioned by @ChrisF, they would have to open it back up, which is not in line with his or her ultimate goals here.

comment Windows 7 RAM says only 16 GB of 24 GB of RAM is available
@ZanLynx: Makes sense. Thanks guys. I guess I'm a little old school and just don't GAME as much as I used to. Games have grown considerably in recent years. The absolute BIGGEST one i play now is about 3 - 4GB, and the other couple are between 100MB and 500MB.

@ZanLynx: But then you are at least using it (sort of, even a full dual layer movie would be what? 8GB? Throw in 2 or 3 in use at most from OS and other programs and you are barely using half of 24GB). This is what I was referring to, personally I couldn't come up with a use for that much memory outside of running a few VMs (which I do regularly, I butt up against the 8GB I have all the time), but for JUST a gaming PC... 24GB seems a little overkill. I agree it is cheap so why not, but even if its $10, why spend it if its just going to sit empty for the life of the PC?

Out of sheer curiosity. Why on earth do you need 24 Gigs of RAM on an entertainment PC? A server I could see, especially a Host for Virtual machines, or for SQL or something, but just a regular PC? You can't POSSIBLY use anywhere near 16GB let alone 24. Can you?
