comment Disable “Do you want to change the color scheme to improve performance?” warning
@harrymc: Great article, very informative... and might explain why Windows keeps showing me that annoying dialogue despite my game performing amazingly with two GTX960s on SLI. (In my case, the only reason Windows thinks it needs to butt in is because I have a game running on fullscreen on one monitor, and some apps are running on a second monitor.)

I can confirm that this doesn't work...

comment Force browser to save password
+1 - the same thing works for opera://flags on Opera (use the filter to find it quickly), or vivaldi://flags on Vivaldi.

comment How to have Excel show numeric values as custom “currencies” (eg. copper, silver, gold)?
For anyone wondering, this format also works in LibreOffice Calc and in Google Spreadsheets ([>=10000]#0"g" #0"s" 00"c";[>=100]#0"s" 00"c";#0"c" - in my case I don't need to worry about negatives).

comment How to open DevTools in Opera?
a) Because someone else might know another shortcut and have a more complete answer. b) Because it's pretty self-explanatory (just right-click to see the shortcut yourself). c) Because historically, this shortcut has been changing and my answer would only be correct for so long. d) Because I wanted to get my comment about Vivaldi in there - Vivaldi is targetting exactly the kind of users that used to love the old Opera. Enough reasons? ;-)

comment How to open DevTools in Opera?
Not really weird, since Opera uses Blink (since version 15, a.k.a. Chropera) as Chrome does. That section you're referencing happens to be for Chrome, and Opera has its own shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+C, as you can see on the context menu). If you were using Vivaldi (also in the same browser family), you'd see it defaults to Ctrl+Shift+I or F12, but, being Vivaldi, it lets you configure your own preferences.

comment Broken mouse cursor on main monitor, Windows 7 64 Bit, ATI Radeon HD 7870
Works like a charm. Note that the key is not necessarily to move it to the top right corner, but to the corner where the mouse jumps between two monitors. For those of you whose main monitor is not on the left, like me, that could be the top left corner.

comment Moving extensions form opera next to stable version
You do realise that a) Opera Next is where they'll try out new things, so you should expect some issues, and b) either they fix it in Opera Next and you'll get the fixed version, or in case they don't, you'll get the same thing later in the stable version, and c) if you have so many customised extensions, the likelihood that your extensions are causing your high CPU usage is far higher than that it's the browser itself...? (I use Opera Next myself without any current problems; I also use Opera Stable, and am switching more and more to Vivaldi.)

comment Web browser extensions for Chrome & Opera that bypass redirect links in Google Search?
+1, wouldn't mind knowing about such an extension either. In the meantime, just to point it out, you could use ixquick or similar other search engines which don't do all the extensive redirecting...

comment How can I switch to new tab on open?
@boot13: Agreed, and it's looking more and more as though it will never get back to being what it once was - an ultra-configurable browser aimed squarely at power users. The new browser on the block taking over that role is Vivaldi. Former Opera employees are very actively developing it, and though it's still a long way from being ready for the masses, I've started using it as my main browser and am loving the progress each week.

comment Opera won't stay logged into facebook page after restarting browser?
This works fine for other people, so my guess would be that you've got some particular privacy settings (cookies?) that are preventing you from staying logged in.

comment Edit the source of a page in Opera
Dragonfly was the web developer tool for the old Opera (Presto, up to version 12.x). The OP says he uses the current Opera (Blink, from version 15 on), although the help link was for Presto. Opera Blink doesn't have Dragonfly; it uses the same (not just similar) inspector Chrome and other Blink-based variants do, which is launched instead of Dragonfly when you "inspect element". You can edit code directly from that inspector, and it will apply changes directly to the DOM, but you can no longer edit/apply from viewing source as you could in Opera Presto.

comment In Chrome, Opera et al. PDF Web Hyperlinks from Word Docs Still Need Ctrl-Click (like Word) for Hyperlink to Work
1) What @Arjan said. 2) Please tone down the rant a bit - this is not a case of browser companies deciding to "get cute" or forcing you to do anything; if anything, it's a case of them trying to make things convenient. 3) If you don't like how your PDF viewer works inside the browser, just disable the relevant plugins and the PDFs should be saved to your downloads folder instead of being opened in the browser, then open the downloaded file in your viewer. 4) Please look up "rouge" and "rogue" in a dictionary... there's a difference. ;-)

comment Cannot format USB flash drive, everything claims it's write protected
@DanielRHicks: Yeah, everyone should pitch in to give the USB manufacturing industry a boost to solve what seems to be a Windows USB bug... Really? You just need to look at the related issues to see that this isn't an isolated problem.

Simple, but works - thanks, David. Unbelievable that something this simple needs to be made so difficult and counter-intuitive.

comment Opera Form Controls Look Antiquated
Uhm... that's how Mantis looks. On any browser. It uses plain, unstyled form elements. Are you seeing different results in other browsers? On other platforms? If so, how are they different?

comment How to bookmark all open tabs in Opera 30 as a folder?
@Jatin: I think you're referring to the old Opera (Presto). This does not apply for the newer Opera (Blink).
