comment Align text boxes in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI
I believe they were created when the document was converted from a word processor (I'm assuming Microsoft Word) document to PDF. I'm not all that sure how that conversion happened.

That works for "interactive objects" but text boxes are not interactive so that selector can't select it.

comment robocopy /mir changes destination folder name-how to prevent that
I tried this out, it works. you can also go in after the copy and delete the desktop.ini file manually. It's a hidden system file so you have to change your view settings.

Does the applications depend on a third party framework like flash or silverlight? Do you have a link/explination to where you got the applications from?

Here's a really good article that explains how all this works if you want to really understand what is going on: arstechnica.com/information-technology/2012/06/…

comment Why do I keep blowing my PSU?
Most high quality power supplies die because of bad external power or poor ventilation. Any gaming power supply will limit the amount of power draw that the components can consume. If you have a bad device that is trying to pull a massive load, the power supply will limit the power supplied to protect itself.

comment Which consumes more power: hard drive or SD card/card reader?
@sawdust en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive - Anything that uses integrated circuits is a solid state drive. In the 70's it was highly impractical for most storage scenarios. This technology has evolved over the last few years and if you look at the specs of an SSD sold today, it is a different story than an SSD available in 2008. Which was the year the comparison was made between a magnetic hard drive and an SSD.

comment Filter Outlook messages with blank To and Cc fields
The distribution list should resolve to your name in the proper field while the message is being processed by the exchange server. So being a part of that distribution list essentially adds you to that field.

If you read the question, I am trying to get a one-two click shortcut that can be pinned to the task bar. This solution does not do what I want.

comment Restoring open software after a restart event in windows
Using Twinsplay is probably the best option that I have at this point. It'll work for most users and seems to be a great tool. The real solution to this is to change the user's behavior so they stop having these problems.

Also, ROBOCOPY is an amazing program that comes with the microsoft windows resource kit. This exe gives you mirroring features and doesn't require an instal once you get it out of the resource kit.

Just copy and paste the code multiple times and change the first two lines to match what you want. If you are looking to get into a more robust solution, I would look into Powershell scripting. It gives you a lot more power and comes with a standard install of windows 7.

So we can probably rule out the power supply. You might start with moving the video card to another system and seeing if the same problems happens. You also might want to check your bios version number. It looks like ASUS released a few BIOS updates to address system stability. You can find the latest on the ASUS website.

VLK as in volume licensing? That's your problem, that license is for processional deployments and is incompatible with Home edition. Looks like you'll have to reinstall windows with the Pro media.

comment Windows 7 Premium to Windows 7 Pro
To move from windows Home to Windows Pro, you do have to purchase windows a second time. You either spend the money for a brand new license, or you spend the money to upgrade your existing license.

comment Windows 7 Premium to Windows 7 Pro
From what I understand, you can use any windows 7 disk to install any version of windows. The setup files are the same, only the configuration files are different. This is what allows the Anytime upgrade process to work. A simple way to think about it is that the process unlocks additional features.

Doubtful, I think it depends on how the image is displayed and what the capabilities of the photo editor is.

To save resources, Windows refreshes the desktop view only when absolutely necessary.
